These potholders by Tutu Nene feature honu (turtle), pineapple, and nene (goose) designs and combine fabric designs derived from early Polynesian kapa drawings which are based on creative combinations of linear elements that cross and converge to form squares, triangles, chevrons and diagonal forms.
The Tutu Nene (Too-Too Nay-Nay) Collection was created out of love and concern for the endangered nene or Hawaiian Goose, with a portion of the purchase price of these items being donated to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
The name Tutu Nene, translates to Grandmother Goose.
